The National Security Department wins the SocietyNow! contest

The analytical project “Poland’s national security in the face of the coronavirus pandemic: internal and external implications” was approved for implementation under the Excellence Initiative at the Jagiellonian University. An application submitted by the team of 12 faculty members of the National Security Department, led by Professor Artur Gruszczak, won the SocietyNow! Contest #1, which received 87 proposals.

The analytical project “Poland’s national security in the face of the coronavirus pandemic: internal and external implications” was approved for implementation under the Excellence Initiative at the Jagiellonian University. An application submitted by the team of 12 faculty members of the National Security Department, led by Professor Artur Gruszczak, won the SocietyNow! Contest #1, which received 87 proposals.

The SocietyNow! Programme aims at stimulating expert activities and scientific research, as well as educational and popularization initiatives, dedicated to the analysis of social consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

An expected outcome of the project is a series of analytical papers concerning the most relevant aspects of national security of the Republic of Poland in the context of the current effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Conclusions and recommendations  of the possible actions in the face of the deepening economic crisis and the challenges of systemic stabilization will be also found among the project’s deliverables.
