The book is edited by Professor Dariusz Kozerawski of the Department of National Security of Jagiellonian University.The au thors of the collected volume make enquiries into the contemporary international security environment, focusing on aspects of politics, doctrine and strategy. Much attention has been devoted to conflicts, disputes and interventions in the context of threats to and opportunities for international security. What deserves a special recognition is the authors’ unique experience gained while performing duties in the zones of war and post-conflict stabilization, as well as their field research in war zones, during post-conflict operations and international interventions in the Balkans, Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asia.
